Common Cannabis Weights at Dispensaries
If you’re purchasing product at a dispensary in the US, there’s a pretty good chance the menu will include pricing of their cannabis by weight, by gram, an eighth of an ounce (3.5 grams), quarter ounce (7 grams), half ounce (14 grams), and full ounce (28 grams) of cannabis In many shops the price per gram for those cannabis amounts will typically get lower if you buy larger quantities. For example, a gram of blue cookies could cost $10 but if you buy an ounce, or 28 grams, the total could be $200 or just over $7 a gram.
So the real question is, how much cannabis do you need?
How Much is a Gram of Marijuana?
A gram of marijuana is a good option if you’re looking to try a top-shelf option while not breaking the bank. Maybe you’re new to cannabis or just looking for enough to roll a couple joints, a gram will do just fine. Unless you smoke a few times a week, there is rarely a need to buy more than a quarter ounce. Marijuana can stay potent for at least six months if properly stored so even infrequent smokers can buy in bulk to save money or find a strain they really like.
How Much is an Eighth of Marijuana?
With online ordering becoming widely available, sometimes it helps to get a look at what an eighth of marijuana looks like to make sure its enough. An eighth of an ounce comes out to just about 3.5 grams. While the picture to the right is 3,5 grams, different strains may be more or less dense so could look different or maybe you’ll get lucky and just get one big bud.
How Much is a Quarter Ounce of Marijuana?
A quarter ounce of marijuana is a good option for all kinds of consumers. Approximately 7 grams, a quarter can last anywhere from weeks to months depending upon one’s habits. Buying a quarter of an ounce also tends to provide a good discount on price per gram compared to buying an eighth or a gram.
How Much is a Half Ounce of Cannabis?
If you’re buying a half ounce or full ounce of marijuana, its likely not your first or second trip to the dispensary. You also probably want to see the flower before purchasing just in case it’s not what you expected. No one wants to be stuck with 14 or 28 grams of cannabis that they aren’t crazy about. That’s a lot of cannabis weight for a new user.
So what are you waiting for? Now that you know all about cannabis weights you should find your local dispensary and start browsing the menu.
